DSA membership

The DSA has four classes of membership...

1. Full Members

These are Direct Selling businesses operating in the UK. They have been judged by the DSA to comply fully with UK law and have given an undertaking to comply with the DSA Codes.   Full Members list Link

2. Prospective Members

Prospective members are those that have been recently elected to the DSA and are awaiting the compliance audit that precedes transfer to full membership and permission to use the DSA logo. They have also been judged by the DSA to comply fully with UK law and have given an undertaking to comply with the Codes of Conduct.   Prospective Members list Link

3. Supplier Members

These are companies and professional firms that supply products, consultancy and professional services to Direct Selling companies.   Supplier Members list Link

4. Associates

This membership status is available for companies who may not be able to qualify as a member but wish to support the DSA in lobbying and promotional activities in support of the direct selling industry.

*Full Members of the DSA have the opportunity to use two logos – that of the DSA and the combined DSA/OFT logo. The joint logo may be used by companies that sign the license agreement with the OFT through the DSA. Conditional No No No
• Representation of a Members' general and particular interest in negotiations with Government both in London and Brussels and with consumer interest bodies. This representation covers all aspects of sales and marketing but excludes matters relating to products. Yes Yes No Yes
• Publicity of Member companies through membership list and other PR material distributed to the public, to trade and consumer media and to consumer interest organisation. Yes Yes No Yes
• The opportunity to participate in a mutual support scheme in which smaller companies are able to receive strategic advice from larger will established members operating similar marketing plans. Yes Yes No Yes
• The opportunity to attend conferences and seminars organized by affiliated direct selling associations in Europe and the US. Yes Yes No Yes
• The provision of an updated world wide Directory of Direct Sales Companies and Affiliated Direct Selling Associations. Yes No No No

• The opportunity to obtain, use and distribute the Shopping at Home leaflet and other consumer literature produced by the DSA. Yes Yes No No
• The opportunity to receive assistance in the preparation of contracts for independent self employed sales people. Yes Yes No No
• The provision of market data and Annual Surveys on the Direct Selling of consumer goods in the UK and in Europe. Yes Yes Yes Yes
