Peter Clothier
"I was a local government officer for many years but
eventually decided I wanted to be my own boss, work the hours I chose,
improve my income prospects and have more fun with my work.
After studying
many direct selling opportunities I joined Usborne Books at Home in 2000. I'm a sucker for books, especially gorgeously-produced
children's books.
It's great to see how enthusiastic and excited children
(and their parents) get when they see them. And it gives me great
confidence in the company to know it's been around for more than 25 years
and has built a worldwide reputation for quality, value and innovation.
It amazes me how wide and varied the selling opportunities
are with Usborne's range of books. I do big business in schools
(libraries, book fairs, staff rooms, etc.), preschool organisations,
homes, offices and just from showing the catalogues.
My Usborne business now provides a healthy full-time income
that grows substantially every year, but that's not the main benefit. I
get more enjoyment and excitement with my business than anything I've done
before.
It's great helping and seeing members of my team succeed, and the
prizes and rewards available for those who work hard are inspirational. So
far I've been on expenses-paid trips to Venice, Bruges, Lille, Paris,
Madrid, Sorrento and a Caribbean Cruise!"
